Saluda Cymbals Artist | Daniel Falter

Daniel Falter was born in Princeton, NJ and has been studying percussion for nine years—first with John Brideson, then Dr. John Beckford (a Yamaha concert percussion endorser). During this time, he gained experience in many styles, including Latin, pop, funk, punk, African, rock, Broadway, and orchestral. His first love, however, is jazz drumming, which he currently studies under Ron Schwartz.

One unique aspect of Daniel’s playing in jazz settings is the African tinge, an influence of his time with “Borenya,” a West African Drum and Dance ensemble based in Columbia, SC. While a member, he was fortunate enough to play with, work with, and learn from master Guinean drummer Fode Moussa Camara. Daniel has also independently studied early jazz, focusing on its African roots.
