MATT DRUM SOLO
Matt Brown has recorded and performed with a
number of groups throughout the Southeast, Texas, and Los Angeles. In the
last year, he recorded a live album with The Independents amidst the group's
merciless touring. Matt joined The Two Dollar Pistols early this year and
continues recording and performing with Regatta 69 and Project Mastana,
while filling in for whoever might need a drummer at the last minute.
A few notable points in his
musical past, include splitting drumming duties with Gregg Bissonette on
Christian Smith's self-tiled album and more touring/recording with Not For
Sale, Kelly's Heroes, and the Semi-Pro Bowlers.
"I'm happier with my Saluda Mist cymbals than
any others that I ever owned. They have the musical presence and punch of
Turkish cymbals with a rich frequency range like European cymbals. Pardon
the cliché', but it's really a best of both worlds kind of sound
Matt uses any combination of these Saluda
cymbals:
7" & 7.5" Voodoo EX bells, 14" Mist thin crash, 17" Mist medium crash, 19"
Mist rock crash, 18" SS jazz crash/ride, 20" Mist dry rock ride, 18" Mist
medium ride, 13" Mist rock hi-hats, 12" SS rock hi-hats, 12" SS & G
splashes, 10" GH splash, 22" Voodoo china "I use two crashes with a ride and
hats generally, with chinas, splashes and bells where I feel they're
appropriate." |
