White logos are a disaster! Just thought I would share. For some reason, the white doesn't go on smooth, like our other inks. We made it soupy and super thick and neither works. We need to get white logos on our Black Mist series, Mission Black prototype series and any other finishes where white would bring out the finish more. It would be a nice add on feature to any dark finish that someone requested as well.
One day we will figure the white ink out.

is there a way to make it more opaque but keep it fairly thin? im not 100 percent sure how the inking process works or anything but ... its just an idea.
do you make your own inks or buy them however they come? like i said i dont know much about ink.. is it acyrlic ink or what? you dont have to bother answering im just curious as to what youre working with.
its weird i saw this thread because i was just thinking that some of the darker saludas would look better with white logos..
i hope you figure it out.

Sorry to hear! Hopefully one day you'll find out a good mix for the white logos. If you really wanted to be cheeky, buy a white marker, and make Saluda logo stencils.

Yes, we are now printing many of our cymbal lines: Earthworks, Voodoo Pre-aged, Onyx, etc. in white logos. White logos can also be requested on any of our cymbal lines.

Too bad, I loved the look.
Can powder coat be an option? I don't know if 300°F can affect the cymbal...

Maybe use white-out with a clear coat overtop?

jamie. I assume it is not a drop ink. I come from 20 years of the printing industry as a large format press operator. there is a product in the print industry call "hickeze" and also a product called "tack away". hickeze if I remember correctly is made by Varn. an internet search would tell. anyways I am not in the printing industry any longer (THANK THE LORD). I am a papermill tech now. your local (large printshop) would have these products handy & would likely allow you samples to try. if not try to buy some @ a print supply establishment.

American Offset Inks product name: Tack Out Gel Reducer
I bet this is what you need. It's different than a thinner. you dont need a thinner, you need the ink to transfer fully.

The white logos seem fine on my Earthworks ride as they do on other cymbal pictures on this forum.

I always had to add a reducer additive to it. or what we called "tack away" to get it to "trap" a tack reducer will aid in the transfer ability issue without thinning the ink so it will remain opaque. I bet one of these products will be your answer

My voodoo china, decadence china, and decadence crash all came with white logos and it looked and felt bad, so I took them off... They weren't smooth at all and were just an eyesore. Just sayin', I like the black better.

I tend to prefer the black logos myself although the red logos on my Diamond splash look pretty good, kinda Paiste like. Just a thought but for something different I really think a green logo would look good up against bronze. Kinda dark, not lime or light green. I just think the two colors would contrast nicely and no one else does it.

I just recently got a Earthworks hybrid crash and it has the white logo as well. It was already flaking off in the bag when I first opened the package. I would say to just stop using white ink if you know it is set up for failure. The cymbal is great nonetheless, but the faulty ink is just a minor drawback from a designer's perspective.

I didn't realize the Istanbul had the green logo, hadn't seen one but yeah, something like that. I like the contrast. Goes together kinda like PB&J.
