There were prototypes from 1995 through 1998 but there are no surviving
pictures. So this pictured, history section starts in 1999 with our
first production run of 12"
G series splash. This picture below is the only remaining picture to show this
very detailed cymbal. We are currently searching for many of our discontinued and rare cymbals that we have created over the psat 20+ years. The G logos were pad-pressed in black ink and around
the bell was printed in white 'Saluda 1999'. Few cymbals featured
hammered bells, like the one show below. Any of the first, 125 batch of
12" G series cymbals would be a great collector's find.
The G series only lasted
this one batch as we improved the alloy to become the GH series. The GH
series, meaning General Hammering, released in early 2000. This series marked
our first experiments with various hammer types/weights, sizes and
techniques. There were four GH versions, which was the result of
constant improvements to the alloy. The GH and GH2 versions are shown
below:
All GH and GH2 cymbals had
pad-pressed logos in black ink and all used a large, tri-oval shaped
hammering tool
